We were delighted when we received a call in early January asking us if we’d like to get involved in a One Time Gin project.
The idea is simple, the OTG team ask a distiller to use their creative flair and come up with a special edition, one off distillation using new and exciting botanicals. It’s a limited edition gin subscription club!
As our edition was going to be available in March and with it being the start of spring, it felt only natural to reflect that in the gin we chose to make. Taking inspiration from our childhood, both of us growing up noticed that the start of spring coincided with the bloom of Blossom Trees. We coupled this with Jasmine, a floral botanical that blends perfectly with the sweetness of cherry blossom and is actually a very different style of gin to our signature and Raspberry gins.
Unbeknown to us we actually distilled and bottled the batch on our 4 year anniversary. We’d been so busy in the preceding month that we were working day to day and concentrating so much on what needed to be done, that we’d actually forgotten the serendipitous day that brought us together and inspired the creation of Manchester Gin.
It is for this reason that the cherry blossom and jasmine special edition will always hold a special place in our heart. For the ones who were lucky enough to get their hands on a bottle i hope they drunk it with someone they love and hopefully it has led them to a lifetime of happiness.
